I hate going away lunches. We are having so many going away lunches where I work that I think they are starting to impact productivity. I swear they need to limit them to one a month (or at least one a week), employees who have already left would come back and everything would be paid for by the head hunters who had placed them. It would be good for everyone. The employees (past and present) would get a free lunch and the headhunters would get introductions to all the ones who are staying. I think that way at least something good would come out of them instead of them ether being a huge group of people who once met the departing employee or a small tight nit gripe fest of those who wish they were going also. They really bring me down (and that's saying something).
