I hate computer abuse! So I go to the doctors office, I have a cold/flu thing going on, no big deal. The doc says I need an allergy/asthma medicine. He fills out a simple one med prescription. Now the Pharmacy is right across the street form the doc so I am so out of there, I had no real wait for the doc, now I was going to drive across the street (future posting about hating to walk link will go here) and I am back in the office in under an hour, sweeeeeet! But even better the doctor's office has a new computer system that will automatically send the prescription to the pharmacy for me so the meds will be waiting for me, Duuuuuuude! So I go across the street and I'm in the pharmacy 15 minutes later (had to pay the bill and drive the car around there) and I ask for my prescription. I get a blank look. There is no prescription. I call the office. I wait on hold. I wait a long time. The doc's office tells me it's the pharmacies problem. The pharmacy says, hey, no prescription, no medicine. I complain to both. I lose 40 minutes waiting. I lose 20 minutes of cell phone time. I get all pissed off! You see the new computer based system they have at the doc's is not so cool. All it does is fax the damn thing to them. There is no check built into the system to insure it gets there. There is no electronic confirmation, no handshake. They are not using some cool new e-commerce tool that will handle all aspects of the transaction. No they are f-ing faxing the paper using a basic dial up fax mach attached to a computer. Weeeeeeeeee! All because some A-Hole thought he could improve on an age old process that NEVER failed me my entire life, by using 1990 technology in 2005! Did i mention that it's a NEW system they have, brand spanking new. Not even old enough to have been mocked by the patients yet. If I had had a paper copy of the damn perscription I would have been in and out of the pharmacy in 5 minute, there was no line, no one waiting for anything. I was clean, I would have been able to fly through the system, but nooooooo. Someone fixed the system. People just because a computer is involved does not make it a better system. You actually need to research the technology and put together a coherent system that improves the existing process. If it is not fixing a problem, why do you need it. If it does not make it better, why do you need it. Work with me people.
You are absolutely correct. I get physically ill when I think about the U.S. government someday soon forcing physicians to "transmit prescriptions electronically" for our patients. There are dozens of things that can (and of course absolutely WILL) go wrong in such a system, wasting huge amounts of time for doctors, patients, and pharmacists. Check it out...the Medicare program (which serves over half of the people in the U.S.) may mandate such an unproven, potentially dangerous, and almost certainly awful method for prescribing for patients in the very near future.
well, that's nice. i'm in computer class right now and it really sucks...luckily she hasn't figured out what i'm doing! well, thought i should say something because of the constant boredom. thanks for the entertainment, better than this crappy computer class. well, bye

yeah there is a tie/scarf day and i'm probably do the sweatshirt day thing..and pj day of course!! lol..this is WAY WAY WAY boring!! ha..
i kept starting typing then he would come close to me and stuff..but yeah..
yeah..i dont really have any jearseys..except my soccer ones..but i dont want to wear one of those..but i will wear a sweatshirt (cause i would probably anyway even if we werent having it as a "day" thingy) and i might do the scarf/tie thingy tomorrow..
